It seems the the scorching heat has at last been dulled by the rain in our wonderful city.
However satisfying the relief from the heat is we need to heed the warning that has been issued to our province by the Eastern Cape weather office. Heavy rain are expected in places along the coast between Cannon Rocks and East London for Friday.
The advisory also says that heavy rain can be expected along the adjacent interior including Alexandria, Grahamstown and Peddie.
Weather office spokesperson, Garth Sampson, says heavy rain is expected in places over the central parts of the Eastern Cape, while flash flooding could occur between Cannon Rocks and Kei River.
East London received 67mm overnight while Mthatha received the second highest rainfall at 35mm.
The rest of the region received between 5mm and 23mm of rain.
